Conducted from July 23 to July 29, this robust operation led to the arrest of 14,154 individuals. Of those detained, a majority—7,103—faced charges related to residency violations. Additionally, authorities apprehended 3,654 individuals for border security offenses and 3,397 for breaches of labor laws. This comprehensive approach not only serves to enforce existing regulations but also aims to deter future violations.
Illegal Entry Attempts and Detentions
In conjunction with these arrests, officials intercepted 1,418 people who were attempting to unlawfully enter the Kingdom. Among those apprehended, a notable 54% were Yemeni nationals, while 45% were Ethiopian, with the remaining 1% coming from various other countries. In a related effort, authorities detained 23 individuals for attempting to flee the country illegally and arrested 17 for allegedly aiding and abetting residency, labor, and border law violations.
Legal Proceedings in Progress
As of now, approximately 30,679 individuals are undergoing legal procedures. This figure includes 28,187 men and 2,492 women. The Saudi Ministry of Interior has taken steps to process these cases, with 17,903 subjects referred to their respective diplomatic missions to acquire travel documentation. Furthermore, 5,424 individuals are in the process of arranging their departure, while 12,613 have already been deported. Severe Penalties for Violators and Accomplices
The government has issued a stern warning against any actions that facilitate illegal entry or employment of violators.
