Among them was Soumen Mohanty, a resident of the UAE, who expressed his appreciation for the serene environment. “It’s been such a welcoming surprise, coming out here to the desert and feeling the peace,” he remarked. Witnessing around 30 to 40 meteors during his time there, he described the spectacle as a humbling reminder of the universe’s grandeur.
Some meteors zipped by so swiftly that it was easy to miss them, while others lingered, illuminating the sky with brilliant trails. Each sighting elicited gasps of amazement from the crowd, enhancing the sense of camaraderie among those sharing the moment. “There was one that looked remarkably close, almost like a firework,” Soumen recalled. “It’s incredible to think about how these fleeting moments can fill a night with wonder.”
