Qatar has firmly denied Iran’s claims regarding the alleged detention of three Iranian fighter pilots, asserting that the aircraft involved violated its airspace. A Qatari official stated that only one pilot’s remains were recovered following the incident.

The Iranian military reported that on March 2, three Su-24 aircraft went down during a mission. According to Tehran, the pilots—identified as Javad Salehi, Abd al-Majid Dashtian, and Omran Behroushian—survived the crash and were subsequently taken prisoner by Qatari forces. Iran has accused Qatar of preventing the pilots from reaching out to their families and has sought the assistance of the International Committee of the Red Cross to help facilitate their release.
