Emirates Environmental Group unveils the 25th anniversary edition of the Clean UAE campaign.

Dubai, UAE – The Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) has proudly inaugurated the 25th Cycle of the Clean UAE Campaign at a significant press conference held at Al Khoory Sky Garden Hotel in Dubai, celebrating a remarkable 25 years of environmental advocacy in the United Arab Emirates. This campaign has solidified its place as one of the nation’s most impactful volunteer initiatives, fostering environmental care and community engagement.

Celebrating a Legacy of Environmental Stewardship

The Clean UAE Campaign stands testament to national unity as it has successfully united various sectors including government entities, corporate organizations, educational institutions, and community groups. The campaign’s enduring legacy exemplifies the collective dedication within the UAE toward protecting the environment. A key feature of this Silver Jubilee Cycle is the continued support from the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, with government backing elevating the campaign’s status to a recognized National Community Action Campaign since 2022. This endorsement emphasizes the campaign’s role in furthering the UAE’s sustainable development goals.

Impressive Achievements Over 25 Years

Since its inception in 2007, the Clean UAE Campaign has made substantial contributions towards environmental conservation. Mobilizing over 1.14 million volunteers across all seven Emirates, the campaign has successfully removed approximately 1.75 million kilograms of waste from diverse habitats, including beaches, dunes, and public parks. Additionally, efforts in responsible waste management have led to a reduction of over 186,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions, showcasing the significant impact that organized, community-driven action can have on the environment.

Dr. Habiba Al Mar’ashi, Co-Founder and Chairperson of EEG, emphasized the campaign’s transformative nature. She stated that the Clean UAE Campaign is not merely about one-day clean-up activities but embodies a national movement inspiring generations to take up the cause of environmental stewardship. The advancement within the campaign reflects a potent mix of community action and the vital support from partners, sponsors, and volunteers.

Upcoming Campaign Initiatives and Community Engagement

The 25th Cycle will extend across all seven Emirates, featuring a series of large-scale clean-up events and environmental awareness programs. The campaign is scheduled to begin in Dubai on December 5, 2026, and will progress through Shajah, Fujairah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, and conclude in Abu Dhabi by December 15. This series of events will engage participants from various sectors working collaboratively to foster environmental conservation.

EEG is actively encouraging participation from corporations, government agencies, educational institutions, and families to join in this significant initiative. By volunteering or partnering as sponsors, organizations can not only contribute to environmental sustainability but also demonstrate their commitment to corporate social responsibility.

As the Clean UAE Campaign marks this important milestone, EEG remains dedicated to motivating individuals and organizations to partake in enhancing community participation and protecting the nation’s natural resources. As the UAE looks towards a sustainable future, the Clean UAE Campaign is an opportunity for everyone to contribute toward building a cleaner, greener environment for generations to come.

For those interested in being part of this impactful initiative, registration is open for volunteers and corporate sponsors alike. Together, the community can continue to support a legacy of environmental leadership and collective action in the UAE.
