Egypt Enhances Factory Collaboration to Increase Investment and Exports

Mohamed Farid, Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, recently highlighted the pivotal role of local companies in enhancing production capabilities, increasing the use of domestic components, and expanding access to international markets. His comments underscore the necessity for coordinated efforts among various governmental entities and factories to stimulate investment and bolster export activity.

Field Visit to Pure Life Factory

Farid made these statements during a visit to the Pure Life factory, located in the Damietta governorate, which specializes in manufacturing microfilters and desalination plants. This inspection was part of his broader initiative, “Egypt Launches with Exports,” aimed at tracking production developments and assessing companies’ strategies for growth and export enhancement. The tour also included the participation of Mohamed Awad, CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), along with several high-ranking officials from the ministry and GAFI.

Insight into Pure Life’s Operations

During the visit, the Minister received a comprehensive overview of Pure Life’s operations from its chairperson, Mohamed El-Sheikh. Established in 2014 with an initial capital of $3.7 million—20% of which is foreign investment—the factory is estimated to have investment costs totaling around $9.7 million. Spanning an area of 5,791 square meters, Pure Life focuses on manufacturing various types of microfilters and their components, including assemblies for production lines, desalination plants, and reverse osmosis membranes.

In addition to these operations, Pure Life also produces raw materials necessary for its products and aims to export approximately 80% of its annual production. The factory’s production capacity is notable, reaching around 2 million filter candles and 30 housings designed for desalination applications each year.

Growing Export Figures

El-Sheikh also shared insights into the impressive growth trajectory of the company’s exports over the past few years; export figures indicate a substantial increase from $698,200 in 2022 to an estimated $3.17 million in 2025. The upward trend in exports reflects a strong commitment to quality manufacturing and market expansion.

The Minister’s tour included an inspection of production lines and various stages of product assembly. This hands-on approach provided an opportunity to delve deeper into the company’s innovative strategies for boosting production capacity and enhancing export levels.

In summary, Mohamed Farid’s emphasis on collaboration and investment among Egyptian companies is crucial for enhancing the nation’s economic prospects. Pure Life stands as a prime example of how local enterprises can leverage both domestic and international markets to their advantage, contributing to Egypt’s overall growth in the global marketplace.
