Accelerating the Development of Gas Fields
During the discussions, Badawi underscored the need to expedite the development of the Denise gas field located in the Mediterranean. By bringing this field online more quickly, Egypt could significantly increase its natural gas output and improve its energy independence.
In addition to the Denise gas field, progress regarding the Mleha facility in the Western Desert was also a focal point of the discussion. With construction nearing completion, Badawi emphasized that this facility is a priority project for the ministry.
