Net wealth in the UAE is projected to soar to $6 trillion by the end of this decade, even amid recent geopolitical instability in the Middle East. A report from the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) highlights this potential growth, forecasting over $2.3 trillion in wealth creation by 2030 at an annual growth rate of 10.6%. Such findings indicate a robust long-term economic outlook for the Emirates, propelled primarily by increased real assets and financial wealth.

Wealth Growth Driven by Assets

According to the BCG report, the UAE’s net wealth grew by nearly 13% last year alone, reaching $3.6 trillion. Factors contributing to this wealth accumulation include substantial increases in real assets, such as property portfolios, which rose to $2.4 trillion in 2025. Financial wealth also saw a notable uptick, reaching $1.4 trillion. While liabilities experienced a slight increase from $210 billion to $220 billion during the same period, they are expected to rise significantly to $340 billion by 2030.

Despite the troubling backdrop of conflict in nations like Iran, the BCG report underscores the wealth creation potential of the UAE. “The ongoing changes in Middle Eastern markets, influenced by geopolitical uncertainties, are expected to create some short-term volatility,” remarked Lukasz Rey, a managing director at BCG. However, he also emphasized that a rebound is anticipated later in the decade, fueled by the UAE’s sovereign wealth and commitment to economic diversification.

The Future of Wealth Management

In light of ongoing volatility, BCG advises wealth managers to remain cautious. Nevertheless, Rey highlighted that the UAE’s wealth development remains structurally resilient, indicating that the region’s long-term prospects are still promising. While current geopolitical factors, including the Iran conflict, have increased economic uncertainty, experts expect regional economies to rebound sharply once these issues are resolved.

The International Monetary Fund supports this view, forecasting a contraction for Gulf economies this year. However, optimism remains as the conflict stabilizes, allowing for significant economic recovery and growth in future years. This resilience further attracts high-net-worth individuals seeking stable investment opportunities.

Changing Patterns of Wealth Concentration

Despite the growth in net wealth, the concentration of assets remains significant among high-net-worth individuals in the UAE. As outlined in the BCG report, the landscape of wealth in the Emirates is expected to change by 2030, with more accumulation occurring within the lower high-net-worth segment. For instance, the number of ultra-high-net-worth individuals (those with assets exceeding $100 million) is predicted to grow from 500 in 2025 to around 800 by the decade’s end.

Further, individuals classified as lower high-net-worth—those with between $1 million to $20 million in assets—are anticipated to see their share of financial wealth increase from 29.3% to 31.5% by 2030. This signifies a shifting dynamic within the wealth spectrum, reflecting broader economic trends and increased accessibility to wealth accumulation for varying segments of the population.

A Premier Wealth Hub

The UAE’s strategic positioning as a global wealth booking center continues to solidify, demonstrated by a more than 11% increase in cross-border wealth booked in the country, which reached $721 billion last year. Projections indicate that currency and deposits will surge to $778.9 billion by 2030, while bonds are expected to grow almost 12% annually.

As the UAE remains an attractive destination for global investors and wealth managers, it offers unparalleled opportunities to tap into substantial sovereign wealth funds and family offices. The overall outlook is bright, with increased financial activity anticipated to bolster the UAE’s status as a key player in the global wealth market.
