Qatar Charity Unveils ‘Winter Heroes’ Initiative

Qatar Charity (QC) has initiated its 2026 “Winter Heroes” campaign aimed at providing vital support to families in need during severe weather and ongoing humanitarian crises. The campaign focuses on raising QR120 million to fund winter relief and develop essential projects both internationally and within Qatar.

Objectives of the “Winter Heroes” Campaign

The overarching goal of the campaign is to assist the most vulnerable populations worldwide, particularly those living in areas severely impacted by disasters and harsh winter conditions. At a recent press conference, key figures from QC, including Abdulaziz Jassim Hejji, Aisha Abdulrazzaq AlKuwari, and Faisal Rashid al-Fehaida, discussed the campaign’s features and its importance. Hejji emphasized that this initiative broadens the concept of humanitarian heroism to encompass not just those enduring the cold but also the many individuals—donors, volunteers, parents, and children—who contribute to alleviating the suffering of others.

Launched in October, the campaign seeks to activate contributions before the harsh winter sets in, ensuring support is timely for those who need it the most. One significant aspect of this year’s initiative involves engaging youth in interactive activities and awareness drives, promoting community involvement and social responsibility.

Funding and Support Initiatives

The “Winter Heroes” campaign aims to gather QR70 million through donor contributions to extend assistance globally, particularly targeting countries like Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Lebanon, Sudan, Somalia, Djibouti, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, and Kosovo. In Qatar, the initiative will focus on delivering essential winter supplies to low-income families, orphaned households, and workers facing financial challenges.

Additionally, the project will offer health assistance tailored to those experiencing humanitarian hardships, enhancing social solidarity and providing relief to struggling families during the winter months. The campaign is projected to reach approximately 23,000 individuals in Qatar, not only providing basic necessities but also health care support for individuals with specific needs, like those suffering from kidney failure or requiring medical insurance for orphans.

Call to Action for Community Involvement

QC is urging individuals, corporations, and community organizations in Qatar to participate in the “Winter Heroes” campaign by contributing whatever they can. Each donation, regardless of size, can considerably impact the lives of families grappling with cold weather and economic strain. Donations can be made easily through the Qatar Charity website, mobile app, various branches, collection points across the country, or by contacting the Donor Service Centre directly.

Through these efforts, Qatar Charity aims to foster a spirit of solidarity, encouraging every member of the community to join in the fight against winter hardships for those who are most in need. The “Winter Heroes” campaign stands as a testament to the compassion and commitment to humanitarian aid that characterize the values of Qatar Charity and its supporters.
