Qatar Airways Launches New Flights to Western Sydney – Travel Daily Media

Qatar Airways is set to enhance its presence in Australia with the introduction of direct flights from Hamad International Airport in Doha to Western Sydney International Airport starting on December 15, 2027. This new route will operate three times a week, significantly improving travel options and connectivity between Australia and more than 170 global destinations.

New Gateway for Qatar Airways in Australia

With the addition of Western Sydney, Qatar Airways will have seven gateways across Australia, joining existing ones in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, and Canberra. This strategic expansion reflects the airline’s commitment to establishing a robust network that caters to the increasing demand for travel to and from Australia. Flights will be available for booking from December 19, 2026, and will be operated using Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, which will feature the award-winning Qsuite Business Class.

Boosting Trade and Tourism

Hamad Al Khater, the CEO of Qatar Airways Group, emphasized the significance of this new route in strengthening the airline’s longstanding partnership with Australia. He expressed optimism about its potential to stimulate trade, tourism, and investment not only between Australia and Qatar but also beyond. The development comes at a time when the tourism sector is rapidly evolving, and more international travel options are needed to cater to burgeoning consumer demand.

Enhanced Connectivity with Flexible Scheduling

The schedule for these new flights will be designed for convenience, with departures from Doha on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and return flights from Western Sydney on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. This frequency will provide passengers with greater flexibility in their travel plans. Tickets will be accessible for purchase through the Qatar Airways website and mobile application, and Privilege Club members will enjoy exclusive benefits, making it a rewarding experience for frequent flyers.

Excitement at Western Sydney International Airport

Simon Hickey, the CEO of Western Sydney International Airport, voiced enthusiasm regarding the new addition to their flight roster. He noted that the airport’s capacity to operate 24 hours a day offers a significant advantage in accommodating international flights. This development is expected to foster increased tourism and business travel, contributing to the economic growth of the region.

The introduction of these flights underscores Qatar Airways’ dedication to delivering exceptional travel experiences and enhancing international connectivity for Australian travelers. With its growing network and partnerships, the airline aims to create unparalleled travel opportunities, making it easier for passengers to explore various destinations across the globe.
