The National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA) is taking significant steps to shape the future of Qatar’s digital workforce by participating in vital educational programs. Recently, the NCSA, alongside prominent figures like its President Eng. Abdulrahman bin Ali Al Farahid Al Malki and Dr. Abdulaziz bin Nasser bin Mubarak Al Khalifa from the National Planning Council, contributed to the “My Career – My Future” job-shadowing initiative. This program is designed to give secondary school students invaluable insights into various career paths, particularly focusing on the ever-evolving field of cybersecurity.
Empowering Future Generations
The “My Career – My Future” initiative is organized by the Qatar Career Development Center (QCDC), which is a part of Qatar Foundation. It serves as a platform for students to gain immersive experience in professional environments, thereby enhancing their readiness for future careers. For its eighth edition, the program has successfully attracted over 350 school students from different parts of Qatar. A significant aspect of the initiative is its inclusive nature, as it ensures the active participation of students with disabilities and additional educational needs, thereby broadening access to professional exposure.
Diverse Learning Opportunities
To provide varied and enriching workplace experiences, 33 public and private sector organizations collaborated to host participants. They offered on-the-ground training and bespoke job-shadowing sessions across various sectors. The involvement of the NCSA stood out, focusing on students intrigued by technology and digital security. The Academy’s primary objective was to introduce high school students to the fascinating world of cyber-related professions.
Industry experts and educators facilitated the sessions, teaching essential concepts related to digital safety, analyzing threat landscapes, and discussing modern cybersecurity protocols. This educational approach seeks to simplify the complexities involved in safeguarding the nation’s digital infrastructure.
