Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently emphasized that Iran’s quest for intercontinental ballistic missiles and nuclear capabilities extends beyond threatening Israel, targeting the United States as its primary adversary. In an interview with Fox News, Netanyahu asserted that the Iranian regime’s ultimate goal is to threaten American cities, cautioning that the U.S. must recognize this looming danger.

A Broader Threat: Iran’s Ambitions

Netanyahu asserted that Iran’s aggressive actions are not merely about Israel; the regime’s ambitions include direct threats to both the United States and Europe. He highlighted that the ongoing development of long-range missiles and a nuclear arsenal is intended to position Iranian power within striking distance of American cities. The Prime Minister underscored the implications of this calculated aggression, stating, “This is a regime that chants death to Israel, death to America. You are the real target.”

In his remarks, Netanyahu expressed hope that European nations would not be offended by the comparison of their status to that of Israel and the U.S., who he referred to as the “great Satan” and “little Satan,” respectively. He characterized European countries as the “middle-sized Satan,” indicating that Iran’s stance affects all nations aligned against it.

The Iranian Nuclear Threat

Netanyahu warned that an Iran armed with nuclear capabilities would present a global threat like no other, citing the regime’s lack of a rational approach to international relations. He stated, “They don’t have this careful calculus of cause and benefit. Because they are so fanatic, you can’t win them over.” The Prime Minister described the Iranian government as a “malevolent power” that collaborates with groups such as Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis, referring to them as extensions of its influence—a “toxic octopus.”

As part of his campaign ahead of the Knesset elections, Netanyahu laid out his priorities should he secure a new term. The first of these is the complete eradication of the Iranian threat. “First, we will achieve the complete elimination of the Iranian threat to Israel, to America, and to the entire world,” he affirmed.

Expanding the Abraham Accords

In addition to addressing the Iranian danger, Netanyahu articulated his commitment to expanding the historic Abraham Accords, a step he describes as crucial. He expressed optimism that more nations are ready to join the coalition of peace and moderation against radical elements, noting that they have been inspired by Israel’s “strength, power, and fortitude.” Emphasizing the need to build a partnership based on shared values, he envisions a future where regional stability can be achieved.

If re-elected, another of Netanyahu’s significant focuses will be on advancing Israel’s position as a global leader in artificial intelligence. He acknowledged the dual nature of AI technology, recognizing its risks but also its potential benefits for various sectors like healthcare, agriculture, and education. “We intend to be world leaders in that area too,” he stated.

Netanyahu’s multifaceted strategy aims to not only shield Israel and its allies from Iranian aggression but to foster broader diplomatic relationships and technological advancements that can benefit all of humanity. By prioritizing these objectives, he looks toward a future where peace and innovation go hand in hand.
