UAE Identified as a Key Market for 40 Technology Firms

Forty companies from Santa Catarina, Brazil, have been selected for an innovative internationalization program. This initiative, known as the Acate Global Ready program, is a collaborative effort between the Santa Catarina Technology Association (Acate) and Canada’s Conestoga College Centre for Entrepreneurship (CEC). The program targets markets in Canada, China, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, Latin America, and Europe.

Program Overview and Structure

The Acate Global Ready program is designed to equip companies with the knowledge and skills necessary for successful global expansion. As the inaugural cohort, this program consists of a comprehensive 20-hour course that unfolds over seven weeks, entirely online, complete with live sessions. Participants will engage in twelve workshops that cover essential elements such as go-to-market (GTM) strategies and regional insights for prioritized markets. Each company will also receive tailored mentorship to aid in formulating a structured executive GTM plan at the conclusion of the training.

Benefits and Networking Opportunities

Participants in the program will benefit from various resources, including access to partner hubs across more than 15 countries and a network of entrepreneurs from Santa Catarina who are already navigating international markets. These advantages are intended to facilitate a smoother transition for companies looking to expand their operations beyond Brazil. “The first cohort of Acate Global Ready brings together companies from Santa Catarina with established operations in Brazil and the capacity to compete in global markets,” highlights Henrique Bilbao, Acate’s vice president of internationalization.

Selected Companies and Future Implications

The selected participants reflect a diverse range of industries and specializations, showcasing the region’s innovative spirit. Notable companies include 224 Scan, BeerSensus AI, and TechLinker, among many others. This program not only enhances individual company prospects but also positions the Santa Catarina technology sector as a significant player on the global stage, fostering economic and innovative growth in the region. “Acate Global Ready is the structured entry point for international expansion within the Acate ecosystem,” notes Lisandro Vieira, director of Acate Global.

Role of Acate and Impact on the Ecosystem

Acate plays a pivotal role in representing the interests of Santa Catarina’s technology sector. The association oversees various initiatives, including the Miditec incubator and the LinkLab open innovation lab, and supports over 2,000 member companies through eight technology and innovation hubs located throughout the state. Additionally, Acate has established a hub in Canada, which enhances networking and business opportunities for companies eager to explore international growth.

Through programs like Acate Global Ready, Santa Catarina aims to strengthen its position in the global marketplace while empowering its local businesses to thrive in international arenas. The collaboration and support provided can lead to new partnerships, innovations, and economic benefits not just for the companies involved, but for the broader regional economy.
