Condemnation of Iranian Attacks
During the session, the Cabinet vehemently condemned the recent Iranian attacks on Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan, characterizing them as blatant violations of these nations’ sovereignty. This stance highlights Qatar’s commitment to upholding international law and regional security. The Cabinet expressed full solidarity with its neighboring countries, reinforcing Qatar’s support for any measures they take to protect their sovereignty and ensure their safety. Legislative Developments in Metrology
As part of its agenda, the Cabinet reviewed the Shura Council’s approval of a new draft law focused on metrology, expected to modernize the existing regulatory framework established by Law No. (21) of 1972. The revised law aims to enhance the accuracy and reliability of measurement systems in Qatar. By defining responsible entities for measurement and calibration, the legislation aims to bolster consumer protection and promote fair competition within market practices. Furthermore, another MoU was established between the Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority and Kazakhstan’s Agency for Financial Market Regulation and Development. Additionally, the Cabinet was briefed on the utilization of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) by the Ministry of Municipality.
