The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) has shared the latest updates on weather conditions, making it essential for residents and visitors to stay informed.
Rain Predictions
There is a notable chance of light to moderate rain across certain areas of the northwestern coast, such as Matrouh and Alamein, as well as in northern Nile Delta regions. With a 30% likelihood of precipitation, the rain may become heavier in areas like Salloum and Matrouh intermittently. Additionally, a 10% chance exists for light rain to touch parts of the southern Nile Delta, potentially reaching parts of Greater Cairo at various intervals. The EMA has indicated that light rain may continue into the following days, specifically on Monday and Tuesday, affecting the northern coast, northern Lower Egypt, and parts of the Western Desert.
Wind and Mist Conditions
Throughout the week, wind activity is anticipated to increase in many regions across the country. This will result in more comfortable conditions in shaded areas and during the nighttime. However, residents should also be prepared for rising sand and dust levels in locations along the northwestern coast, Nile Delta, and open areas of Greater Cairo. Additionally, early morning mist is expected to form between 4 a.m. and 8 a.m. on roads leading to and from northern regions, including Greater Cairo, the Canal cities, and central Sinai.
Weather Outlook for the Week
As we progress through the week, moderating warm and humid conditions are anticipated in the early morning and at night. Conversely, the daytime will see hot and humid conditions dominate across northern Egypt, particularly in Greater Cairo and northern Upper Egypt. Meanwhile, the southern Upper Egypt region and South Sinai—which encompasses popular resort destinations like Sharm El-Sheikh and Dahab—will experience extremely high temperatures, maintaining a very hot climate.
Feels-Like Temperatures
The anticipated high in Greater Cairo is expected to reach around 34°C. While morning and nighttime temperatures should offer some relief, the apparent temperatures throughout Greater Cairo and the Nile Delta are predicted to range between 33°C and 34°C. Coastal areas in the north may see moderate temperatures around 30°C to 31°C. For northern Upper Egypt, apparent temperatures are expected to hit between 36°C and 37°C before cooling down to approximately 33°C by Friday. On the other hand, southern Upper Egypt will remain notably hot, with temperatures steadily reaching between 40°C and 42°C, slightly decreasing to about 37°C to 38°C starting Thursday.
