IHG Announces Partnership for 250-Room Crowne Plaza Hotel in Egypt

IHG Hotels & Resorts has recently announced a partnership with Kleek Development to establish a new 250-room hotel in the Sixth Settlement area of New Cairo, Egypt. This exciting development highlights the growing demand for high-quality accommodations in a city that continues to evolve as a key commercial hub.

A Strategic Location for Crowne Plaza New Cairo

The Crowne Plaza New Cairo will be prominently situated within a mixed-use development area, designed to serve a diverse clientele encompassing corporate, commercial, and residential sectors in East Cairo. Set to welcome guests in the first quarter of 2031, this property aims to address the needs of business travelers and vacationers alike, as it will tap into the region’s ongoing economic growth and infrastructural investments.

Comprehensive Amenities and Room Options

Guests can expect a variety of accommodations, including both rooms and suites, ensuring flexibility and comfort for all types of visitors. The hotel will offer four distinct dining options, featuring an all-day dining restaurant, a lobby lounge, and a bar, catering to a range of culinary preferences. Additionally, six dedicated event spaces will be available, accommodating both corporate meetings and social gatherings, making it a perfect venue for diverse functions.

Recreational and wellness facilities will further enhance the guest experience, with plans for a swimming pool, a fully equipped gym, and spa services. This focus on well-being reflects the hotel’s commitment to providing a holistic hospitality experience.

Modern Design Meeting Contemporary Needs

The hotel’s design will align with Crowne Plaza’s brand standards, carefully crafted to meet the requirements of modern travelers. This includes the innovative Plaza Workspace layout, which transforms communal areas into specially designated zones for work and relaxation. Such a setup allows guests to switch between professional commitments and leisure seamlessly, which is increasingly vital for today’s travelers.

In addition, the guest rooms will feature the WorkLife Room layout, designed to partition space for work tasks, rest, and sleep. This attention to detail underscores the evolving needs of travelers who seek accommodations that support both productivity and relaxation during their stay.

Addressing Demand in a Growing Market

Haitham Mattar, Managing Director of IHG Hotels & Resorts for India, the Middle East, and Africa, commented on the ongoing transformation of New Cairo. He noted that continuous investment in infrastructure and commercial initiatives is solidifying the area as a significant destination. With an increasing number of business opportunities, demand for top-notch, internationally branded hotels is set to rise.

Mattar emphasized that the Crowne Plaza brand is ideally positioned to meet this increasing demand, given the shift towards blending work and leisure. Today’s guests are looking for flexibility that allows them to work, network, and unwind without needing to switch locations. The design and amenities of Crowne Plaza New Cairo are meticulously developed with these considerations in mind, promising a unique and enriching experience for all guests.
