The Kurdistan Freedom Party (PAK) reported that its Chamshar headquarters experienced a ballistic missile strike on Sunday, further indicating Iran’s commitment to suppressing Kurdish resistance. These opposition groups have maintained military capabilities and bases within the autonomous Kurdistan Region of northern Iraq, which makes them significant targets for Iran’s strategic military objectives.
As detailed by local news outlets, the Iranian missile strikes occurred in the Erbil province, precisely aimed at locations associated with the Komala Party. Reports indicated that two missiles targeted the headquarters of the Kurdistan Toilers Party in Alana Valley, with officials confirming the strike took place late Sunday evening.

The escalating conflict has a historical context; since Iran’s engagement in hostilities with the U.S. and Israel began, over 81 missiles and drones have been launched at Komala’s facilities. PAK’s spokesperson noted that their forces have faced attacks between 50 and 60 times during this period alone.
Since February 28, a staggering 857 drone and missile assaults have been reported in the Kurdistan Region, signifying the extensive targeting of Kurdish factions. These military actions are generally carried out not just by Iranian forces but also by Iranian-backed militias located within Iraq.
