Additionally, to combat water purification challenges, regulations were updated to empower provincial governments and the Mayoralty of Baghdad to directly import liquid chlorine from global suppliers. This move is designed to ensure a steady supply of safe drinking water while addressing the pressing gaps in domestic water treatment capabilities. Accompanying this initiative, the new measures include a quarterly drinking water safety report that will aid in monitoring and improving water quality across provinces.
