Hezbollah’s Strong Rebuttal
Hezbollah’s leader, Naim Qassem, responded vehemently to the Lebanese government’s position, arguing that it subjects the army to “unwarranted pressure” and continues an “ongoing humiliation” for the Lebanese military. Qassem expressed disbelief at Lebanese officials allowing the army to endure bombardments and external pressures rather than safeguarding it. Issa stated that such a disarmament is essential for peace, claiming that “everything will stop” if Hezbollah relinquishes its weapons.
