Sable, a burgeoning AI startup founded by four Harvard alumni, has secured $45 million in funding from Sequoia Capital and 8VC. The recent funding round was primarily led by Sequoia Capital and 8VC, with additional contributions from investors such as BoxGroup, SV Angel, and the Valor Atreides AI Fund. Esteemed founders from companies like Suno and HubSpot also joined the investment. Notably, both Shaun Maguire from Sequoia and Joe Lonsdale, a co-founder of 8VC and Palantir, have become members of Sable’s board of directors, enhancing the company’s strategic direction.
Founded in October 2025 by Nim Ravid (CEO), Leon Chen, Linda He, and Itamar Rocha, Sable emerged from a group of friends who shared a passion for AI research at Harvard. The team boasts experience in advanced fields like reinforcement learning and multimodal AI. With backgrounds at prestigious companies including SpaceX, Google, and Meta, Sable has a strong foundation in cutting-edge technology, setting the stage for its ambitious goals.
Recruitment and Global Strategy
Currently employing around 15 staff members in the United States, Sable is expanding its recruitment efforts to Israel, recognizing the region’s rich talent pool in AI. Ravid emphasizes the importance of tapping into Israel’s unique technological expertise, stating, “We have an opportunity to expose it to the great challenges of the AI field.” This strategic move aims to attract top-tier engineers who can contribute significantly to Sable’s mission.
Prior to launching Sable, Ravid gained considerable recognition in Israel and beyond through his initiative, Survived To Tell, which aimed to share the stories of survivors following a tragic event in October 2023. His efforts captured global attention, and he also represented students on Harvard’s Committee to Combat Anti-Semitism, further solidifying his leadership credentials.

This advanced capability, referred to as “Interactive Intelligence,” combines real-time browser navigation, computer vision, and voice capabilities.
