The recent Infrastructure Intelligence Hackathon, organized by Vodafone Qatar in collaboration with the University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST), showcased the remarkable capabilities of students in the fields of artificial intelligence and 5G technology. Held on the university’s campus, the event concluded with a celebratory awards ceremony honoring the top teams for their innovative contributions.
Celebrating Innovation and Teamwork
The hackathon featured ten dedicated teams, each comprising three to four students, who tackled the theme ‘Infrastructure Intelligence: Smart Energy and Telecom Systems using AI and 5G’. These talented individuals worked tirelessly to devise creative solutions over the course of the competition, reflecting their commitment to academic excellence and practical problem-solving.
During the awards ceremony, accolades were presented across several categories, celebrating the participants’ achievements in innovation and technical execution. The top prize went to the team of Rashid Al-Kaabi, Hamad Al-Kuwari, and Ahmad Zaineldin, followed by Michael Joshua Tendero and Jose Luis Alfonso Sandoval in second place, and Mohamed Almejresi, Rayen Cherif, and Mohamed Al Baisoumy who clinched third place. Additionally, the Best Innovation Award was given to Seyedeh Hassan, Hafsaa Chohan, and Fadi Mohamed, while Lama Alafaleq and Hiba Sulanki were recognized for Best Industry Relevance.

Dr. Ali Lari, an Assistant Professor at UDST, commended the participants for their exceptional performance and the high level of creativity they exhibited throughout the event. He highlighted how the competition provided a platform for students to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical context, pushing their boundaries and honing their skills in a competitive atmosphere.
