Ceer introduces EXOBOT electric vehicles, marking Saudi Arabia’s inaugural foray into electric mobility.

Ceer, Saudi Arabia’s pioneering electric vehicle brand, has made headlines with the unveiling of its flagship models, the Exobot SUV and sedan. This significant announcement marks a pivotal moment for the country’s ambitions in the global automotive market.

Introducing Ceer: A New Era for Saudi Arabia’s Automotive Industry

Founded in 2022, Ceer is the first locally established electric vehicle (EV) company in the Kingdom, an initiative spearheaded by Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman and the Public Investment Fund. The latest launch of the Exobot models represents Ceer’s commitment to expanding its lineup, with plans to release seven vehicles over the next five years. While specifics remain under wraps, they will range from compact to midsize vehicles featuring multiple propulsion methods.

The Exobot series will be manufactured at the Ceer Manufacturing Complex (CMC), touted to be the largest automotive factory in the Middle East and one of the most advanced facilities globally. By focusing on local design and engineering, Ceer aims to align its offerings with international standards, solidifying Saudi Arabia’s position as a contender in the global automotive landscape.

Performance and Design: The Exobot SUV and Sedan

The Exobot SUV is equipped with a powerful 112 kWh battery, providing an impressive NEDC range of up to 560 kilometers (approximately 348 miles). Featuring a dual-motor all-wheel-drive, it boasts a combined output of 850 horsepower and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in just 2.6 seconds. The vehicle’s 800-volt electrical architecture allows for rapid charging, enabling the battery to recharge from 10% to 80% in just half an hour.

Design-wise, the Exobot comes with cutting-edge features such as steer-by-wire technology, a steering yoke, and adaptable dual-chamber air suspension, providing multiple driving modes to enhance user experience. Inside, the SUV dazzles with a 48-inch curved “Digital Horizon” display, 3D navigation, and a camera-based mirror system, making it a tech-savvy choice for modern drivers. Dimensions for the SUV stand at 5,016 mm in length and 2,101 mm in width.

Aiming for a Sustainable Future

Ceer is positioned to be an integral part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiative, a strategic roadmap that seeks to diversify the economy and lessen dependence on oil. Under this vision, non-oil exports are targeted to exceed 50% of the nation’s GDP, while renewable energy is expected to account for over half of the country’s electricity supply. By 2034, Ceer anticipates contributing approximately $8 billion (SAR 30 billion) to the national economy.

In a strategic move to bolster its technological capabilities, Ceer recently entered into partnerships with key players in the automotive sector. In June 2024, the brand secured a deal with Hyundai Transys, granting access to its advanced three-in-one electric drive system. Shortly after, Ceer partnered with Rimac to leverage high-performance electric drivetrain technologies, ensuring its vehicles are at the forefront of innovation.

Through these collaborations and its ambitious plans, Ceer endeavors to redefine mobility in Saudi Arabia and become a meaningful player in the global electric vehicle market. As the automotive landscape continues to evolve, Ceer’s commitment to quality, performance, and sustainability positions it as a noteworthy contender in the years to come.
