Growth Potential for Wynn and Melco Seen in Macau and UAE Properties – MACAU DAILY TIMES

Wynn Resorts and Melco Resorts & Entertainment are set to be bolstered by new investments in Macau and a forthcoming casino resort in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), as indicated by analysts from Texas Capital Securities. The potential for growth appears promising due to property enhancements, expanded entertainment venues, and international projects that aim to attract a more diverse clientele.

Investment Opportunities and Market Outlook

According to a recent report from Texas Capital Securities, analyst David Bain characterized the current investment landscape in Macau as “very solid.” Despite a slight downturn in third-quarter gaming revenue that fell short of some expectations, the potential for growth remains untapped. Bain emphasized major projects like the Enclave hotel tower slated for Wynn Palace, as well as a new theater initiative, highlighting them as strategic investments that could significantly enhance Wynn’s market position in Macau.

Several economic conditions have contributed to fluctuations in gaming revenues, which the brokerage attributes to softer market conditions in China. The recent clarification regarding tax treatment on offshore funds may also impact availability for premium and VIP gamblers. Additionally, reports suggest that some regions may experience delays in visa approvals, further complicating the revenue landscape.

Wynn Al Marjan Island: A Major Development

On the international front, Texas Capital Securities has observed that Wynn Al Marjan Island, a project in Ras Al Khaimah, is on schedule for a September 2027 opening. This development will see Wynn holding a 40% stake in the $5.7 billion venture, alongside local partners Marjan and RAK Hospitality Holding. Bain believes that this burgeoning project is not being fully appreciated in Wynn’s current stock valuation, suggesting it represents a significant untapped asset for investors.

Melco’s Growth Drivers

For Melco Resorts, the impending full opening of the REM hotel at City of Dreams Macau is expected to be another growth catalyst. Set to launch later this month, this development could improve revenue opportunities while reducing initial operating costs associated with the hotel. Bain described the third quarter as potentially marking a turning point for Melco, as disruptions at City of Dreams transition into new growth avenues.

The company has also been active in share repurchases, having acquired approximately $121 million in shares during the second quarter, leaving around $590 million under its existing authorization. This strategic move reflects Melco’s confidence in its future prospects within the competitive gaming landscape.

In summary, both Wynn Resorts and Melco Resorts & Entertainment are well-positioned for future growth, driven by new investments and strategic projects. As market conditions evolve, these companies may capitalize on their initiatives in Macau and the UAE, paving the way for enhanced financial performance. The outlook remains cautiously optimistic, as stakeholders watch for changes that could impact gaming revenue and overall market dynamics.
