The Blue Content Creators Programme recently launched in the UAE aims to empower a new generation of young storytellers dedicated to raising awareness about water sustainability. This initiative focuses on training fifty participants to harness the power of digital storytelling, video production, and artificial intelligence to effectively reach global audiences.
Who is Behind the Programme?
The programme is a collaborative effort involving the National Media Authority, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Federal Youth Authority, with contributions from the New Media Academy. Abdulla Ahmed Balalaa, the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Energy and Sustainability, emphasized the importance of involving young voices in shaping critical decisions around water use. His statement underscores that today’s water-related choices will have lasting effects on future generations.
Khalid Al Nuaimi, the Director of the Federal Youth Authority, added that the initiative is designed not only to extend participants’ knowledge but also to enhance their skills. By doing so, the programme will empower these young individuals to engage creatively with pressing issues that not only affect the UAE but also have global implications.
Programme Details and Structure
Set to take place over three weeks in November, the training will encompass a variety of topics, including water sustainability, storytelling techniques, video production, and digital publishing strategies. Participants will receive comprehensive instruction aimed at equipping them with the tools necessary to address both national and global challenges through their content. The structured curriculum aims to inspire creative thinking and effective communication among participants, facilitating impactful storytelling.
As the UAE gears up to co-host the 2026 United Nations Water Conference alongside Senegal, this programme comes at an opportune moment. The conference, scheduled to occur in Abu Dhabi from December 8 to 10, seeks to spotlight pressing global water challenges. By training these young creators, the UAE hopes to ensure that innovative ideas and solutions take center stage during this vital event.
How to Get Involved: Application Process
UAE citizens and residents aged 18 to 35 are encouraged to apply. The application process evaluates candidates based on their eligibility, skills, and motivation, with the intent to select a diverse cohort representing the UAE’s rich cultural landscape. Interested individuals can submit their applications until October 30 through the New Media Academy’s website.
Unlocking the potential of young creators is crucial for fostering awareness and encouraging actionable solutions to water-related challenges. This programme is more than just training; it is a call to action for young storytellers eager to make a difference through their creative endeavors.
