Where Will the UAE’s New High-Speed Rail Halt? Discover the 6 Station Locations Unveiled

The United Arab Emirates is on the brink of a transportation revolution with the introduction of a High-Speed Rail line. This innovative project will significantly cut travel times between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, reducing the journey to a mere 30 minutes.

Understanding Etihad Rail’s High-Speed Service

Etihad Rail’s upcoming high-speed service is distinct from the established Etihad Rail passenger service, which is set to commence its first phase in June 2026. Initially announced in early 2025, recent updates from the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) revealed a comprehensive map outlining Dubai’s expanding rail network, featuring two new Dubai Metro lines and the anticipated high-speed rail service. This new project aims to enhance connectivity, making it easier for residents and visitors to navigate between the two major cities.

Key Stations on the High-Speed Rail Line

Etihad Rail has finalized the locations of six stations that will be serviced by the high-speed train, with four of these situated in Abu Dhabi. The stations are strategically placed, providing crucial links to many local attractions and essential transit points. Notably, one of the stops will be at Al Jaddaf in Dubai. This waterfront area will connect to the existing Green Line and the future Gold Line of the Dubai Metro, placing passengers right in the heart of a bustling neighborhood filled with amenities.

Another significant stop will be at Al Maktoum International Airport, helping to facilitate easy access to this future aviation hub, set to become one of the world’s largest airports by 2032. Transport connections to and from the airport will be vital for both travelers and residents alike.

Connecting Cultural Hubs and Entertainment Venues

Reem Island in Abu Dhabi will also feature a station, linking this modern residential area directly to the city center. This vicinity is not only residential but is also home to several attractions such as Reem Central Park and Reem Mall, enhancing its appeal as a vibrant living space.

Saadiyat Island will become another key stop, showcasing the UAE’s rich cultural landscape, including the Louvre Abu Dhabi and other significant museums that form part of the Saadiyat Cultural District. This link will cater to culture enthusiasts and international tourists seeking to explore the artistic offerings of the nation.

Moreover, Yas Island, known for its entertainment attractions, will be part of the high-speed rail network. It is home to exciting venues like Warner Bros. World and Yas Waterworld, which promise to allure families and adventure seekers alike.

Finally, the rail service will connect directly to Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi, enhancing travel convenience by allowing for swift transit from the airport to notable destinations across the emirates. Passengers arriving in Abu Dhabi will be able to access Dubai within an hour of disembarking, making it a game-changer for tourism and business travel.

Ultimately, the introduction of the Etihad Rail High-Speed Rail line is set to redefine travel in the UAE. With its strategic stops at significant urban hubs and cultural districts, the service will not only decrease travel times but also promote economic growth and tourism throughout the region.
