Main Takeaways from the Prime Minister’s Address at the 2026 Egypt Forum

The Egypt Forum 2026 kicked off on October 19 in the New Administrative Capital, focusing on the theme “Today’s Perspective… Tomorrow’s Vision.” This significant event aimed to highlight Egypt’s developmental progress while actively engaging citizens in discussions about their daily issues and aspirations. High-profile attendees included President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, among various ministers and officials.

Engaging Citizens in Development Discussions

Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly emphasized that the forum was not simply a platform for showcasing achievements. Instead, it was designed for a two-way dialogue where citizens’ opinions, criticisms, and suggestions could be heard and valued. He confirmed the importance of using scientific methods and public opinion polls to define national priorities shaped by the voices of the populace.

The forum featured over 30 sessions organized with experts and academics, all aimed at addressing pressing issues faced by Egyptian society. In addition to these sessions, a dedicated website was launched, allowing citizens to submit their ideas and proposals directly. This initiative drew approximately 7 million views, with 61,000 individuals registering to participate and more than 16,000 proposals submitted. Notably, young participants aged 18 to 35 represented about half of the total attendees.

Identifying Key Issues for Progress

During the forum, a wide range of citizen concerns were discussed, including topics such as inflation, educational reforms, public service quality, wages, and safety. The discussions delved into the unique challenges present in education, media, youth engagement, sports, and the labor market, demonstrating a comprehensive approach to addressing community needs.

Moreover, strategies for navigating regional challenges, including wars and conflicts, were a crucial part of the dialogue. The Prime Minister highlighted the necessity of a robust vision for Egypt’s energy sector as a cornerstone to support economic stability, increase production, boost exports, and generate job opportunities.

Building a Transparent Future

Commitments to openness and transparency were fundamental themes throughout the forum. Dr. Madbouly stressed the importance of evaluating current initiatives by clearly outlining achievements, gaps, and future objectives. The plan is to transform citizen discussions into actionable steps, creating a transparent pathway toward growth.

Crucial to this transition is the establishment of a clear timeline and an executive action plan extending to 2030. This plan will outline priorities, implementation methods, and mechanisms for monitoring outcomes. The forum’s ultimate objective is to convert discussion into effective action aimed at improving the quality of life for all Egyptian citizens.

By fostering dialogue and prioritizing citizen engagement, Egypt Forum 2026 has set the groundwork for a constructive future influenced by the aspirations and needs of its people. The government’s commitment to incorporating public input into its developmental strategies reinforces a shared vision for progress, ensuring that the voices of citizens remain at the heart of Egypt’s evolution.
