Egypt’s Chocolate Exports Hit 1 Million in 2025, with Saudi Arabia Leading Key Markets — TradingView News

Egypt’s chocolate and cocoa-based food preparation exports have displayed remarkable growth in 2025, reaching approximately $251 million. This surge has been fueled by rising global demand and the strategic expansion of Egyptian products in the international marketplace.

Significant Export Growth

In 2025, Egypt sent approximately 33,000 tonnes of chocolate and cocoa-related products to global markets, securing the 10th position among the world’s exporters with a 3% share of total global exports, according to the Food Export Council. Between 2020 and 2025, the sector demonstrated a robust compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 38% in value, while volume exports rose at a CAGR of 17% during the same period.

The improvement in export performance is evident with a striking 64% rise in value in 2025 compared to the previous year. This trend underscores the increasing penetration of Egyptian chocolate products into international markets, enhancing the nation’s reputation in the global food preparation sector.

Key Markets for Egyptian Exports

Saudi Arabia emerged as the most significant destination for Egyptian chocolate and cocoa preparations in 2025, receiving exports worth around $87 million, which represents approximately 35% of the total. Following closely was the UAE, with exports valued at $37 million, accounting for nearly 15%. Kuwait also played a key role, importing products worth around $18 million, which is about 7% of total exports.

Other notable markets include the UK and Qatar, with exports amounting to $15 million and $12 million respectively, contributing to 6% and 5% of the total exports. Collectively, the exports to these top five markets reached approximately $169 million, making up around 67.3% of Egypt’s total chocolate and cocoa-based food preparation exports of $251 million in 2025.

Future Growth Opportunities

The impressive growth in Egypt’s chocolate export sector reflects the country’s increasing capabilities to access and compete in international markets. The data highlights an expanding presence, particularly in Arab countries, which constitute a significant portion of demand for Egyptian cocoa products.

This surge in demand presents Egyptian companies with invaluable opportunities to enhance their export activities. By solidifying their presence in established markets and diversifying into new ones, companies can capitalize on the growing global appetite for processed food items. As the chocolate sector continues to develop, the potential for increased export volumes remains robust, promising a bright future for Egypt’s food preparation industry.
