EMA warns of thunderstorms and dusty conditions in Egypt on Saturday.

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) has forecasted that Saturday’s weather will exhibit mildly high temperatures during the daytime across northern regions, including Greater Cairo, while southern areas will experience significantly hotter conditions. As nighttime approaches, temperatures are expected to drop, offering a cooler atmosphere during the early morning hours.

Chance of Rain Across Various Regions

Weather maps suggest the possibility of light rainfall, accompanied by intermittent thunder, particularly in central and southern Sinai as well as the Red Sea Governorate. Some regions, like Halayeb, Shalateen, Ras Banas, and the southern Eastern Desert, could see moderate rainfall, with a 30% likelihood of precipitation. This weather pattern may also affect parts of Aswan Governorate, bringing much-needed hydration to the arid land.

Additionally, there is a 20% chance of light rain scattered throughout the northern coast and Lower Egypt. This precipitation may extend towards places along the Suez Canal, and even Greater Cairo might not escape the showers. Moderate rainfall is also a possibility in some regions within Matrouh Governorate, offering relief from the dry conditions typically seen this time of year.

Wind Activity and Its Effects

Recent satellite observations have identified winds reaching speeds of 30-40 km/h that are likely to impact Greater Cairo, the northeastern coasts, Lower Egypt, and South Sinai. The strong winds are expected to stir up sand and dust in areas such as Halayeb, Shalateen, and parts of the southern Eastern Desert, affecting air quality and visibility. Citizens in these areas should take precautions to safeguard their health and well-being.

Given the forecasted weather conditions, the Egyptian Meteorological Authority emphasizes the importance of staying informed. Residents are encouraged to follow the latest weather updates and bulletins released by the authority to effectively prepare for any changes in weather that may affect daily activities.

In summary, the upcoming weather in Egypt presents a blend of mild warmth in the north, extreme heat in the south, and the possibility of rain across varied regions. To maintain safety, citizens should remain vigilant and informed regarding these weather developments throughout the weekend.
