Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly recently emphasized the significance of the Decent Life (Hayah Karima) initiative, branding it as Egypt’s most considerable endeavor of the 21st century. The project aims to elevate living conditions and enhance public services, particularly in rural communities.
Monitoring Development in Rural Areas
During a press conference after visiting various development projects in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate, Madbouly underscored the government’s commitment to monitoring progress across different regions. He detailed the ongoing inspections of development projects that aim to improve service delivery and living standards for residents. One notable initiative he inspected was the expansion of a water treatment facility in Motobas. This project is set to provide clean water to over 130,000 people, showcasing the program’s goal of enhancing daily life by expanding essential services like healthcare, sanitation, and infrastructure in villages throughout Egypt.
Housing and Urban Development Projects
In addition to water management, the Prime Minister evaluated housing initiatives aimed at providing quality living spaces for low- and middle-income families. He visited the Safwa Dara and Zahra Dara housing projects, which together feature thousands of housing units. These developments are designed to create integrated communities by incorporating essential services like schools, healthcare facilities, and recreational areas. Madbouly emphasized the importance of maintaining high construction quality and expediting the completion of infrastructure, ensuring that all public services are operational from the moment residents move in.
Enhancing Cancer Care Services
Madbouly also placed significant emphasis on healthcare, particularly the expansion of cancer treatment facilities. He toured the Kafr El-Sheikh Oncology Centre to review its capabilities in servicing cancer patients. His vision includes enhanced access to specialized treatment across various governorates, alleviating the need for patients to travel long distances for care. The government operates multiple oncology centers and has reported treating over 41,000 new cancer patients last year alone, providing numerous chemotherapy and radiotherapy sessions to ensure comprehensive cancer care.
Investing in Economic Growth through Infrastructure
Further showcasing the government’s commitment to boosting local economies, Madbouly inspected several commercial projects in the area, including the Matrix Sports Club and the Delta Gate Mall. These initiatives aim to utilize commercial spaces effectively while attracting diverse investments to stimulate economic activity. Additionally, Madbouly analyzed the progress of a fishing net manufacturing facility that aims to significantly increase production by 2030, thereby supporting local industries and export capabilities. Kafr El-Sheikh’s crucial role in Egypt’s fishing and aquaculture sectors provides a strong market for locally manufactured fishing nets and equipment.
