“Currently, the races in Qatar and Abu Dhabi are confirmed,” Domenicali noted, although he emphasized that if circumstances remain uncertain, changes will have to be made. Responding to questions about potential alternatives, he indicated that European venues are the only feasible options if the races cannot take place in the Middle East.

Domenicali mentioned that “Brexit-connected documentation” restricts options outside Europe. The endorsement of venues in Europe has been substantiated by the fact that the World Endurance Championship (WEC) has also decided against hosting events in the Middle East during the year. Nevertheless, while Domenicali confirmed that venues in Europe are viable, he refrained from providing specific locations, stating, “There are possibilities on the table, but it’s premature to make any assurances.”
Among the speculated locations, Italy’s Imola circuit stands out as a potential candidate if a substitution is necessary. While Domenicali noted that Imola is “an option,” he acknowledged it is not yet finalized. The likelihood remains that both Imola and additional tracks could serve as substitutes, with the goal of maintaining the original 24-race schedule.

Racing in Europe during late November or early December poses risks due to cold weather.
