Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman recently formalized their cooperative intentions by signing two memoranda of understanding focused on energy and artificial intelligence (AI). This strategic agreement also established the Canada-Saudi Arabia Coordination Council, which aims to leverage the strengths of both nations in these pivotal sectors. By fostering collaboration, they hope to accelerate the development of sustainable energy solutions that will benefit both economies.
Canada’s Expertise in Carbon Capture and Storage
Canada’s profound commitment to carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology positions it uniquely in this partnership. With a track record of successfully storing over 50 million tonnes of COâ‚‚, Canada possesses invaluable experience in capturing emissions primarily from fossil fuel sources to create blue hydrogen.
