Qatar Tourism recently celebrated the accomplishments of 147 participants in its tour guide training and youth development programs during the “Legacy of Guides: Generation to Generation” ceremony, held at the Oasis Stage in the Mall of Qatar. Among the participants recognized were those who completed four distinct training initiatives. The Junior Tour Guide Summer Camp 2026 welcomed 110 children eager to explore Qatar’s rich cultural landscape. Additionally, the “Guiding the Next Generation” Train-the-Trainer Programme enabled eight licensed Qatari tour guides to share their expertise by mentoring aspiring guides. The Youth Tour Guide Training Programme saw 19 participants eager to learn the nuances of guiding, while the Tour Guide Licensing Programme honored 11 individuals who obtained their professional certification.

At the ceremony, Omar Abdulrahman Al Jaber, Director of Operations Affairs at Qatar Tourism, emphasized the significance of tour guides in enriching the visitor experience. This year marks a significant milestone with the debut of the Youth Tour Guide Training Programme, designed to prepare participants for roles in guiding and create further opportunities for them in the tourism sector.
