Instead of the canceled voyage, the ship completed its last journey with NCL on a nine-day Mediterranean cruise that sailed from Barcelona to Piraeus, concluding on September 9. After this notable trip, the vessel was handed over to Cordelia Cruises in the Mediterranean before it sailed to Turkey for its planned refurbishment.
Future Plans for Cordelia Sky
Following its refurbishment, the ship, now named Cordelia Sky, is set to embark on two- to five-night cruises departing from Mumbai, with routes that will include popular destinations such as Goa and Lakshadweep. The highly-anticipated first sailing is slated to occur 40 days post its entry into dry dock in Yalova, adding excitement to Cordelia’s upcoming itinerary.
Long-term Charters with Cordelia
In April 2025, NCL’s parent company, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, announced a long-term charter agreement that includes both Norwegian Sky and Norwegian Sun, with Cordelia Cruises. Each ship comes with an option for purchase as part of this strategic partnership. The contracts foresee the charters beginning in 2026 and 2027, respectively, further diversifying Cordelia’s cruise offerings.
Upcoming Additions to the Fleet
Norwegian Sun is also slated to join the Cordelia Cruises fleet in the third quarter of 2027, which is expected to enhance the variety of experiences available for travelers.
