Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, has announced that the 2026 iteration of the festival is the most extensive to date, featuring a lineup of over 400 events across 23 venues and more than 50 locations throughout the city. Attendees can look forward to numerous activities, including 40 concerts and 15 art exhibitions and installations, all designed to showcase the rich cultural tapestry of Türkiye. Food enthusiasts can explore five unique culinary routes throughout Istanbul, including Beyoglu–Galata and the Historic Peninsula, each providing a taste of the city’s diverse offerings through creatively curated dining experiences.
Expanding Horizons: More Cities, Greater Impact
This year’s festival is not restricted to Istanbul alone; it spans 26 Turkish cities, and additional cities such as Balikesir and Denizli are set to join in 2027, increasing the festival’s reach to 32 locations. The international program is particularly ambitious, featuring the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and performances by the National Arab Orchestra, as well as the Turkish premiere of Russia’s Stanislavski and Nemirovich-Danchenko Ballet Theatre. Additionally, the festival will showcase emerging talents like pianist-composer Busra Kayikci, who this year became a voting member of the Recording Academy.
